A quilt is made of many individual pieces, stitched together to create a whole. Similarly, a community is made up of many people, each bringing their diverse stories and experiences to the group. Storytelling acts as a thread stitching individuals together, creating a quilt of shared experiences, values, and aspirations. In our twelfth year, the Southeastern Quilt and Textile Museum is focusing on storytelling to build community around the textile arts. As part of the celebration, the museum is featuring a series of powerful exhibits and programs to inspire understanding, diversity, healing, and creativity. Become part of the community by visiting us on Bradley Street or go to sqtmuseum.org to learn more.
