Job Description
Job Summary:
Performs various housekeeping duties necessary to maintain and enhance the value of the community. Cleans occupied and vacant apartments to market-ready status. Works as a team member along with the service staff to ensure the community meets the quality of standards set forth by TISHCO Properties, LLC.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other dutues may be assigned in the future and every employee is expected to perform any reasonable task or request that is consistent with fulfilling company objectives.
  1. Cleans occupied apartments and apartments to market-ready status. This may include the following tasks:
  2. Remove all trash and debris and put in trash receptacle
  3. Carry cleaning supplies by using a wheeled cart
  4. Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork
  5. Clean rugs, carperts and/or draperies, using vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers
  6. Clean appliances by using chemicals or solvents
  7. Disinfect and clean bathrooms
  8. Sweep and mop floors, using brooms or mops
  9. Sweeps communal walkways and areas such as the breezeways, laundry room, and office
  10. Cleans communal areas such as office, bathrooms, laundry room, and library
  11. Removes trash from communal trash bins and put in trash receptacle
  12. Responsible for communicating to Management when cleaning supplies are needed
  13. Observes precautions required to protect property and resident property, and report damage, theft, and found articles to supervisor
  14. Maintain open communication with all coworkers
  15. Be able to work in a fast-paced and customer service oriented environment
  16. Performs duties under pressure and meets deadlines in a timely manner
  17. Must be detail oriented
  18. Other job functions:
  19. Delivers various communications to residents as needed
  20. May be required to drive motorized vehicle on and off property for company business
  21. Represents the company in a professional manner both on and off the property
  22. Must be honest and ethical in reports to supervisors, other management personnel and in relationships with the residents
  23. Must be respectful of residents and their personal belongings while in their apartments
  24. Attends and participates in training seminars as requested by Management
  25. Assist other staff members as needed

Skills, Education and/or Experience:
  1. A valid driver’s license and automobile insurance is preferred
  2. Previous housekeeping experience preferred
Language Skills:
  1. Ability to speak effectively with residents and co-workers
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram format. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

a) Depending on specific needs of the day, alternatively stand, walk and/or sit. Estimate of 90% of time is on your feet
  1. Must be able to spend up to 80% of your time performing the following physical activities:
Bend/Stoop/Squat         Perform routine housekeeping, pick up trash, cleaning supplies, and other debris
Climb Stairs                 Routine cleaning duties require access to 2nd and 3rd floor apartments
Push and Pull               Move equipment, open and close doors, etc.
Grasp/Grip/Turning       Handle cleaning tools and equipment
Finger Dexterity           Hand cleaning tools and equipment
  1. Must be able to spend 20% of time performing the following physical activities:
    Reach above shoulder   Perform routine housecleaning and dusting
    Climb Ladders              Perform routine housecleaning and dusting
  2. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  3. Be able to lift up to 25 pounds and under on a frequent basis (33% to 66% of the time)
  4. Be able to lift 25-50 pounds on an occasional need (1% to 33% of the time)
Work Environment:
  1. Ability to work indoors at least 70% of the time
  2. Ability to work outdoors at least 30% of the time
  3. Frequent exposure to solvents, paint fumes, oils, flammables, pesticides, and cleaning chemicals, etc. This position is part time, 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and the hours are flexible during our business hours (9:00am - 4:00pm).
