Job Description

Printpack, a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging products, is seeking qualified candidates to fill one of the following production positions:

  1. Bag Packer
  2. Material Handler
  3. Quality Assurance Technician
  4. Press or Extruder Assistant
  5. Press, Extruder, or Slitter Operator

Pay Ranges will vary based on position and candidate’s experience. They range from $13.38 - $28.76 per hour.


***Please note that we will be hosting interviews for selected candidates on Wednesday, October 18th for all positions. You must be available this day. Offers will be given by Friday, October 20th. ***


Minimum Requirements & Preferred Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Ability to work a 3/2 12-hour rotating shift, which includes nights and weekends
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot problems
  • Computer Skills in Internet Explorer, Access and ability to learn PRISM software.

Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to successfully complete a color blind test
    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
    • Must be able to climb, kneel, bend, squat
    • Must be able to grasp, push, pull and have fine motor skills
    • Must be able to stand for long periods of time

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Prior flexographic printing experience preferred
  • Printing/Production experience is preferred
  • 1-3 years experience of material handling and use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and powered pallet jacks (for Material Handler position).

Key Responsibilities & Competencies

Duties for each position include, but are not limited to:

  • Bag Packer
    • Pack the finished product into boxes and prepare for shipment
    • Use a computer to access information
    • Use small hand tools to make adjustments
    • Inspect bags for quality and ensure customer specifications are met
    • Prepare and properly label boxes for shipment
    • Ensure adequate inventory of shipping supplies
  • Quality Assurance Technician
    • Analyzing / Integrating / Interpreting
    • Checking Objects, Work, Procedure
    • Evaluating material performance against know standards
    • Relay critical information with in a timely manner
  • Material Handler
    • Performance of routine safety inspections of lift equipment
    • Loading and unloading trucks
    • Moving material and general support of warehouse, shipping/receiving, and material handling functions
    • Responsible for maintaining the area or areas that they work in and around
  • Operators
    • Maintain performance numbers while producing good quality product
    • Facilitate press make-ready, run and wash-up
    • Effectively troubleshoot print quality, register and technical specification issues
    • Set up and operating the press in an effective and efficient manner
    • Monitor equipment and the printing process to ensure quality and adherence to food safety standards
  • Assistants
    • Prepare printed rolls for lamination (primary unwind)
    • Prepare back stock rolls for lamination (secondary unwind)
    • Place rolls in machine and prepare for splicing (both unwinds)
    • Assist in removing rolls from rewind
    • Remove and weigh startup rolls at beginning of job
    • Keep box resins stocked and ensure wand is placed in resin
    • Clean NIP roll in machine during setup and downtime to prepare for startup
    • Perform daily housekeeping
    • Remove and weigh waste from both unwinds
    • Remove and weigh waste from rewind if necessary
    • Make waste bales when baler is full
